Kawaii visual artist Yumemiru Hito  

 

My art name is Yumemiru Hito (shortened in Hito), I am a western visual artist and character designer. 

I love creating kawaii artworks, cute characters and images with a unique and bright colored style inspired by japanese cartoons and manga. 

Each character, each image offers a message of serenity, positiveness and optimism, a wish for happiness and beautiful things, a special moment cut out in the grey daily life. 

Each of them is a gift, a moment, a break that can be appreciated with the eyes, the heart and the mind too. 

Through my artworks and kawaii characters, my aim is promoting unboundary love, long-lasting serenity and happiness, a colourful and optimistic way of perceiving life. 

 

 

 

Greeting cards and gift paper   

  

My images are currently drawn for greeting cards and gift paper. Since the end of  2008 they will be available in the European stationary shops. 

  

Kawaii artworks & decorative panels 

 

Big size kawaii images   

A whole series of big size kawaii images has been created for decorative panels, soon they will be showcased in personal expositions.  

 

Small size kawaii images:"Memories of the wind". 

A series of small size kawaii images printed on acoustic wall panels will be soon visible in Italy in the personal exibition "Memories of the wind". 

  

Style   

 

My style is a tasty mix, a cauldron of visual stimulations, western fascinations, oriental elements elaborated and remixed through an ardent imagination.   

The taste for kawaii comes form Japan, from ancient China the passion for the ideograms, finally the West offers a filter through which all these elements pass before acquiring their definitive form.   

  

Kawaii  Characters 

 

Small, tender, cuddlesome, variegated, colored, dreamy, each with its own history and way of being, a mix of Western and Oriental flavour, these are my characters. I don't have a favourite one because they are really numerous, so-so many that I don't even know how many they are.  

It is always a surprise when my characters come to light because I am never sure about the final result until the last drop of colour, yet my certitude concerns the fact that they all express my brightest, dreamy and optimistic side. In a certain way they also complete me: they are so easy  and immediate as much I am multifaceted in everyday life. 

Graphically they are very simple and essential and right for this reason able to speak with genuineness to the people’s heart, both young and less young.   

 

 

Optimism and positiveness as guidelines 

 

Through my characters, I would like to remember that a whole world of imagination, pure love, dreams to be realized, natural and positive feelings does exist, a world that our society, so focused on money, competition, power, hate, discrimination, has set aside and bounded. 

Looking at my artworks I just would be happy if you could say "Oh how nice! "and for an instant all the ugly thoughts could run away and away.  

  

The happy antidote 

 

If you feel discouraged, if you feel tired, if you think that your dreams won't come true... Don’t worry..., pluck up your courage, you will see that everything will be all right, days of sun will arrive, the main point is that you firmly believe in yourself, in your abilities, in the possibility that your desires come true. Believe in you, always and everything will happen.
